NAGA CITY ( Sept. 14) – The 6th Bicol Tourism & Food Expo 2017 opens today at The Event Center, Ground Floor of SM City Naga from 10AM to 9PM until Sept. 17. It will kick-off with an opening program at 10AM  with its continuing advocacy on tourism and food industry with the teme “MSME”: The Way to Go” with guests from partner agencies, industry and business group, local government units and other stakeholders.

Bitfex brings together in an one-stop marketplace in the Bicol Region the key players in agriculture, food service, tourism and LGU’s to promote and sell their finest products and ingenuity, services and tourist attractions and more importantly, build a network of useful business contacts, intented to sustain the promotion of local products while fostering the Bicolano entrepreneurial spirit. To welcome and give their opening statements are PBN Broadcasting Network, Inc. Mrs. Brenda Bayona-Locsin and SM City Naga Mall Manager, Engr. Christian-Wesley D. Villanueva.

Mayor John G. Bongat of Naga City will speak on “The Role of MSME’S in Naga City’s Tourism & Agricultural Development”, while the newly installed Regional Director of the Department of Trade and Industry Benjamin “Benjie” F. Santiago will talk about the Role of MSME’s in Bicol Tourism Development.  “The DA’s Support to MSME’s in the Agricultural Development will be tackled by Regional Executive Director Dr. Elena B. de los Santos while  Asst. Regional Director Rodrigo Aguilar will talk about the Support of DTI on MSME’s Development. Meanwhile two Bicolano congressmen (Rep. Rodel M. Batocabe -Ako Bikol Partylist and Camarines Sur 3rd District Rep. Gabriel H. Bordado  are expected to join the opening of BITFEX 2017 to give inspirational messages to the exhibitors, the audience and the viewing and listening public.

In the afternoon at 1:00 to 5:00PM  The Department of Agriculture will launch their Agriculture forum entitled AGRIPRENEURSHIP Development: “A Tool to Attain Sustainable Agriculture”. At 5:00-8:00PM  the singing champions from the six provinces will take the center stage of SM City Naga’s Event Center for the Regional Grand Finals of Orogmahan Karantahan asin Tarabangan Season 5 where big prizes are at stake for K-Teens and Adult Categories.
