LAY LEADERS TO GATHER IN LEGAZPI FOR THE 20TH BIENNIAL CONVENTION




LEGAZPI CITY (October 13) – Hundreds of lay leaders and lay keepers, Parish Pastoral Council officers and head of Religious Organizations from different parishes in the country will be in Legazpi City for the  20th National Biennial Convention which will be  held from Oct. 27 to 29 at the Legazpi Convention Center here.

It is a gathering of Arch/Diocesan Councils of the Laity  and Catholic Lay groups from all over the country for the purpose of revisiting  “The Role of the Laity in Society, Politics, Economics and Environment, said Bishop Joel Z. Baylon of the Diocese of Legazpi in an interview with DZGB News.  He added that Laiko has a big role in the transformation of the society. He enjoined lay leaders in the Diocese to participate in the convention. Diocesan Council for the Laity Legazpi will host the event.

The convention will be grace by CBCP Episcopal Commission on the Laity Chairman and Laiko National Director Most Rev. Bishop Broderick Pabillo, Arbishop Rolando J.  Tirona  of the Archdiocese of Caceres and former DENR Sec. Gina Lopez. (Mar de la Cruz)
