CENTRAL BANK ISSUES STATEMENT ON CHARTERED PLANE EMERGENCY LANDING

LEGAZPI CITY (Jan 11)  - Central Bank of the Philippines had issued a clarificatory statement on Thursday regarding the emergency landing of their chartered plane RP-C280 at the still under construction Bicol International Airport, at Brgy. Alobo, Daraga, Albay around 11:30AM Wednesday January 11.

The official statement of the Central Bank dated Jan. 10, 2018  was read by Central Bank Legazpi Deputy Director Marlyn Paje over DZGB News to wit:

“At about 11:30AM  today, a light aircraft chartered by the BSP , carrying  official cargo, encountered  some mechanical problems  while en route  to Legazpi City in Álbay.  The BSP  is pleased to  to report  that all passengers  and crew on-board  the aircraft  are safe and unharmed, while the cargo is intact and secured.

The BSP shall defer the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP)  and other oversight agencies  responsible  for the proper  disposition  of such incidents”.

Paje added that investigators of CAAP is set to arrive today to conduct further investigation. (Mar de la Cruz with reports from Jordan Alpajaro)
