OFW FAMILIES AFFECTED BY MAYON VOLCANO ERUPTION GET CALAMITY ASSISTANCE FROM OWWA


LEGAZPI CITY (Feb 23) - Families of active overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) affected by Mayon Volcano’s eruption were provided with P3,000 worth of assistance from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). Meanwhile the families of inactive OFW’s have received P1,500.

This was disclosed by OWWA Bicol Spokesperson Rowena Alzaga in an exclusive interview with DZGB News here, Friday.

Alzaga said that they are now processing documents for the families of OFWs from the town of Camalig after disbursement of assistance to the beneficiaries from Ligao City and the town of Guinobatan respectively. All of the towns and cities affected by the restive Mayon Volcano  (Daraga, Legazpi City, Sto. Domingo, Bacacay, Malilipot and Tabaco City) will received the calamity aid from OWWA.

She added that the requirements include valid Identification Cards, OWWA payment Official Receipt  and Certificate of Membership  for OFW claimants. While OFW beneficiary claimants need to present the following documents: Proof of Relationship, Authorization from OFW/Legal Beneficiary, Valid IDs and Proof of OWWA payments.
