NO SUBSTITUTE YET FOR REP. BATOCABE’S BID FOR DARAGA MAYORALTY RACE



LEGAZPI CITY (Jan. 23) – “We apologize to our dear Daragueños for the delay in our decision as to who will replace  my father as candidate for mayor in Daraga, Albay in the national and local mid-term elections in May 13, 2019. But I assure everyone that we will continue the programs and projects of our father and we will not leave our fellow Daragueños”.

This was the pronouncement of Atty. Justin Batocabe  in a press conference on Wednesday held at the Ako Bicol Partylist Office at Embarcadero de Legazpi, Brgy. 27  Victory Village this city. “The situation is frightening and her mother is still grieving for the loss of their father plus the security issue. Rest assure that their will be a Batocabe who will replace his father’s mayoralty bid”, he added.

Comelec clarified though that replacement of a candidate who died or is disqualified by a final judgment may still lodge a COC up to mid-day of election day, provided that the substitute and the substituted have the same surname.”
It added that substitutes would have to file their COCs with any Board of Elections inspector, election officer, provincial election supervisor or regional election director “in the political subdivision where such person is a candidate. (Mar de la Cruz)
