OWWA calamity aid to OFWs in Albay now in full swing

STO. DOMINGO, ALBAY -About 300 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) from this municipality who were victims of Typhoon “ Tisoy” last December 2019 would receive P3,000 pesos in financial assistance from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) today.

In an interview with OWWA Bicol spokesperson Rowena Alzaga said that P900,000 pesos in financial aid would be given to OFWs residing nin this town. “The cash aid came from the calamity assistance fund of the agency given to OFWs with active membership since December of 2017 to December, 3, 2019 when Albay was declared under the state of calamity because of the typhoon”, Alzaga added.

OFWs can claim their cash aid by submitting a certificate from their local government units as proof that they were victims of the calamity.
