Albay Veterinary Office step up measures against spread of ASF

Albay Mar 03 – The Provincial ASF Task Force intensify measures to stop the
spread of the virus after organ samples tested by the Animal Disease Diagnostic
Laboratory, Bureau of Animal Industry were found positive for the African Swine Fever virus. The
samples were taken from the four pigs butchered at the slaughter house
discovered bought from Bombon, Camarines Sur.
In
an interview with Provincial Veterinary Services officer-in-charge Dr. Pancho
Mella confirmed that barangays Kilicao,
Alcala, Malobago, Tagas and Culliat, this municipality were subjected to close
monitoring. Random blood samples for
hogs in the aforenmentioned barangays will be done everyday. In a recent development the Task Force confiscated 40 kilos of siomai from Bulacan after failure to present necessary documents(NMmdl)
